Matt gave his name to the business because he is proud of the work he and his team does. He has been in the building industry his whole working life. Matt started M Hewat Construction in 2012 and has built the business from there, now employing four full-time staff.

Through his career, Matt has worked on the complex and the grand, the simple and the small. M Hewat Construction offers a personalised service, and works with closely with clients on projects to get the result they want.

Matt is a Licensed Building Practitioner (LBP), and is also a Registered Master Builder. He is committed to quality workmanship, and this is shown by his success in achieving a silver award at the 2018 Registered Master Builder House of the Year competition. The awards given at this competition are for work that is above the standard required by the building code.
Matt has been building in Canterbury for over a decade and can take on jobs in Christchurch, Waimakariri, Selwyn, Banks Peninsula, and wider Canterbury.
